This is the way up to the Drachenburg castle in Rhöndorf. A beautiful path, but quite steep in places.

The name is once again misleading: Of course, the local hiker knows that there are by no means several lakes visible from this spot. Rather, it is the "good old Father Rhine," which can be seen several times, seen here from above.

In the quarry, high on the west wall, there is a bronze plaque in honor of Mr. Eschweiler, who must have made a great contribution to the beautification association in the Siebengebirge.

The Lietschenhütte was renovated in March 2016 as part of a German-French apprentice exchange by the Bonn Rhein-Sieg carpentry guild. It is located on the left side of the Mirbesbach valley on the Drachenfelsstraße (hiking trail - no road), which leads from the Margarethenhöhe to the Drachenfels above Königswinter.

A somewhat dated refuge - very useful in bad weather, otherwise you'll be more likely to walk past it as the views are much nicer elsewhere.

The hut is a dry refuge even in wet weather, making it ideal for a break. From here a path leads to the summit of the Breiberg, 300 meters away, from which there is a beautiful view.
