Mount Diablo, is the Bay Area second-highest peak at 1173m (3849ft). The challenging climb features constantly fluctuating gradients averaging 8%, with tough sections up to 18% and a brutal 23% finish in the last 200m. The equally demanding descent requires good bike handling due to tight corners, potholes, and strong winds. The road to the top is open daily from 8 AM till sunset.

Valle Vista is the trailhead for the paved Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail, a popular rail-trail for cyclists. There’s a restroom here, but note: the EBMUD dirt trails are hiking-only and require a permit. The bike trail has been officially closed between here and Moraga since a 2019 landslide.

There are many hiking and biking trails in the park, that can be combined to make loops and to access viewpoints. The Sycamore Grove charges a parking fee of $5. Point Emery, located on the SF Bay Trail, is a charming little park with stellar bay views, walking paths, and relaxation spots with benches along the trails. Open daily from 5 AM to 10 PM, Point Emery provides a perfect outdoor setting for families and dog owners, with designated off-leash areas for pets. The park features two launches: a wide sandy beach north of the parking lot and a narrow set of stairs near the Point, making it popular for kayakers, paddleboarders, and kiteboarders. The short walk to the beach, through small dunes and down steps, gives way to a beautiful stretch of golden sand. Although there are no public transportation services nearby, a good amount of parking is available.

There is a paved foot & bike path that runs straight through the park to Arroyo Road, though I am not sure if it actually has an exit onto the road. It continues further into Veterans Park. Of the gravel trails some are closed to bikes for nature preservation reasons. Others allow for a (mostly) easy gravel ride.
