The Pyhänkasteenlampi Lake is crystal clear. The thick granite boulders are reflected in the surface and can be seen in the water. A very beautiful place and sacred to the Sami people.

At the end of the Isokuru Gorge lies the 12 m deep lake Pyhänkasteenlampi, surrounded by steep cliffs. A creek flowing down through the Karhukuru Gorge joins the lake and forms a 17 m high waterfall. From here you can see a boggy lake that shines in all natural colors, 200 meters down.

Small idyllic lake, overnight cabin, campfire site, toilet. What more do you need for a break after an exhausting descent or before the strenuous climb to Noitatunturi :) (the way to Pyhä is also challenging)
