This segment was completed in 2025, starting from Thessaloniki and heading towards Alexandroupolis. At one point, the road is closed, but this is mainly for cars. If you carry your bike for 2 meters, it restarts without any problems. A magnificent road, quality gravel, and breathtaking views. There's a swimming and shower available at the end of the segment to freshen up, plus a kiosk for a Coke. Life is good. See you later. (At times, it's a bit adventurous, but if you have hybrid tires, it's fine, even if you have to push a little.)

We passed here on March 1, 2025, no problem crossing. Only 2cm of water on the road so quite feasible for us.

This is top-class gravel fun. The views and landscape are breathtaking. After two weeks of cycling in Greece, I can say that this route was one of the absolute highlights. You and your bike will get very dusty, but it's worth it!

I don't know for a racing bike, but it's easy to ride with a trekking bike, even with luggage; it's strenuous, but there are lots of beautiful views.

Here you cannot walk further along the beach, but have to make a short detour over the road/bridge

A wonderful stony route a "Mercedes" trail, super clear marked and you can get through there without a GPS. Mirror markings reflecting in both directions along the entire length were installed so that a nocturnal hike can also be carried out. The track is a very interesting combination and definitely belongs to the best "clean" mountain tours that meet your individual requirements. A detailed description is not necessary here, because the puzzles assemble by themselves when you move around. I did this trail on a cloudy day, the heavenly one Panorama was partially obscured by passing clouds. That's why I stood above and below the clouds - a wonderful experience. Nymphaea Fortress is a military museum located 17 km north of Komotini near the Greek-Bulgarian border. Nymphaea Fortress is famous today for the battle that took place on April 6-9, 1941 when the German army attacked and eventually conquered the fort. Since 2000, the Nymphaea Fortress has served as a military museum.

The old bridge stands still through the ages over Kompsatos river. Medium difficulty, hilly asphalt road but the view is spectacular.
