Medieval cheleiros bridge, built on an ancient Roman structure.

The Old Bridge of Cheleiros is located in the pleasant village of the same name, in the municipality of Mafra. The structure is often called Roman, however the current construction dates back to the Medieval Period, and there are even those who claim that it is contemporary with the construction of the Convent of Mafra, having been rebuilt over a previous Roman building. In fact, this is a region rich in archaeological remains dating from the period of Roman occupation of the territory.

An abandoned mountain village that has been lovingly restored. The attempt to restore it and revive it with the help of tourism. Very beautiful and really worth seeing.
