You don't have to drive to the island. As a pedestrian, take the ferry. It's also cheaper than driving. Then take the bus to Trollanes or a town before and hike to the lighthouse. The bus also takes all hikers back to the ferry.

The eponymous village is idyllically situated in a westward-facing valley on the island's west coast. It is known for its charming whitewashed houses, colorful roofs, and striking church dating from 1867. From the village, there are beautiful views of the neighboring island of Kalsoy. Kunoy is a place of tranquility and natural beauty that particularly touched us. Improved transport links via causeways and tunnels have made the island more accessible without losing its original charm.

A well-maintained path winds through the dense foliage to the huge rock Eggjarsteinur, which serves as both a shady picnic area and a challenging via ferrata.

Although the Faroe Islands are generally considered treeless, there is one notable exception on Kunoy: Viðarlundin í Kunoy, a small but dense forest of ash, birch, and spruce. This forest is a rare sight on the islands and offers a beautiful contrast to the otherwise barren landscape. We hear incredible chirping there, but unfortunately, don't get a single bird in our lens.

Very nice and relatively short walk to a (mini) lighthouse. The ultimate vantage point is on the rock behind the lighthouse, but when we were there we had to deal with insanely strong gusts of wind. Because there was a child with me, I decided not to enter that narrow rock.

Kunoy [ˈkʰuːnɪ] “Women's Island” (Danish: Kunø) is a place in the Faroe Islands on the island of the same name, Kunoy. Kunoy looking south across the Kalsoyarfjørður to Kalsoy in the west. Water mill View from the village to the forest The town of Kunoy is the seat of the municipal administration of the municipality of Kunoy (Kunoyar kommuna), which has existed since 1930.[1] In September 2016 the place had 69 inhabitants.[2] The zip code is FO-780. Kunoy is located at the bottom of a trough valley open to the west in the middle of a panorama of mountains over 800 m high. The view over the Kalsoyarfjørður to the neighboring island of Kalsoy completes the scene. The place consists of three parts, with the village center called Heima í Húsi. The town has around 70 inhabitants and is the only town on the island besides Haraldssund. Together they form the Kunoyar kommuna municipality. The two places have been connected by a road tunnel since 1988. Previously, a passenger ferry ran from Strandfaraskip Landsins to Klaksvík. The only land connection before the tunnel was built was a hiking trail around the southern tip of the island, slightly above the shore. The path still exists today and is relatively easy to walk. Another hiking trail leads over the mountains to the deserted town of Skarð. Because of its altitude difference of 600 m, it is only suitable for experienced hikers. Above the town lies the small forest (plantation) Viðarlundin í Kunoy with a size of 0.78 hectares. The first trees were planted here in 1914. The forest has been owned by the Kunoy municipality since 1949. There is a café (Kaffistovan í Kunoy) in Kunoy. The church in town dates from 1867. It was started on May 20th of that year and was finished on October 17th. Everyone involved in the construction was people from the island. The builder was a certain Símun Ericsen from Haraldssund, who also built the church in Klaksvík at that time. The church was consecrated on the 1st Advent 1867. On April 13, 1992, the state government of the Faroe Islands placed the church and its cemetery under monument protection. However, they continue to be used. Another attraction is the small, old watermill in the middle of the village by the Myllá stream. Its roof is covered with grass. The mill was built in such a way that it can fulfill its purpose even with little water. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunoy_(Location)

Nice route from the town of Trollanes to the "Lighthouse at the end of the world". It is an easy linear route to follow.
