The old fort is a part of Morristown National Historical Park. Though the fort was built to control important supply depots during the Revolutionary War, it never saw action. A rumor circulated that it had been constructed simply to keep the men busy, and thus the name "Fort Nonsense" was born.

Running along the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border, Kittatinny Mountain is a unique part of the Great Appalachian Valley, offering fantastic, panoramic views.

Baldpate Mountain, formerly known as Kuser Mountain, is situated within the volcanic Sourland Mountain Ridge. Along the way, you may encounter several original structures from the original owners, such as the main house, livestock barns, a spring house, and a guest lodge. From this point, you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area.

This 1800-acre area is home to Strawberry Hill and Baldpate Mountain, two popular features of this area. Miles of trails wind throughout, offering an enjoyable running experience.

The trails at Bald Pate Mountain have scenic forest views covering over 486 acres of forest, meadows and granite-topped scenic vistas. Along the way there are numerous opportunities for gorgeous views. All the hiking trails are marked and signed.

Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain is Hopewell Township’s largest contiguous forest. It has a beautiful series of trails winding through the preserve and is a very popular area for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.

The Mahlon Dickerson Reservation property features over 3,500 acres of hiking and biking trails that pass through different forest, mountain, and wetland ecosystems. There are a few different trailheads with different parking and recreation areas; it goes without saying that the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation has a lot to offer.
