A very idyllic place to unwind. There are no restaurants nearby. If you want to take a break or have a picnic, you'll have to bring your own food.

Altdorf near Nuremberg is worth more than this (strangely placed) highlight.

The former university town is located about 25 km southeast of Nuremberg in the middle of a low mountain range (400-700 m above sea level) with Rhät gorges (Rhät = Upper Keuper) and upper land rich in forests and meadows. In winter Altdorf is very snowy, in summer the hilly surroundings offer many leisure opportunities, such as cycling tours or hiking. From Hegnenberg you can enjoy a panoramic view of the medieval town in sunny weather
