A beautiful circular hiking trail leads around the lake, with many benches inviting you to linger and “enjoy the landscape”. There is also a “history trail” along the path, which was created on the occasion of the “950th anniversary” in Happurg. There were only a few people walking today, but there is a lot going on here at the weekend.

During the week very pleasant corner. Not so recommendable on weekends in summer if you are looking for peace and quiet, can be overcrowded and noisy.

Beautiful lake in the forest - unfortunately, bathing has been prohibited since 2018 due to poor water quality.

It is also worth a visit in winter. Lots of great hiking trails around the lake. Can also be easily connected to the Röthenbach gorge.
