A large part of the meadow is under water, but unfortunately I didn't see any beavers or dams.

There is not much going on here and is therefore ideal for hiking.

The two Franconian Ways of St. James come together here. The route from Hof, which I took here, and the one from Coburg/Bamberg, which I walked last year. From here we continue via Kalchreuth to Nuremberg.

The Happurger Baggersee, located near the town of Happurg, is a popular bathing lake in the Hersbruck Alb region of Middle Franconia. The nearest towns are Hersbruck and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, but visitors from Nuremberg and Lauf also enjoy this small bathing lake. Swimmers and sunbathers meet at the Happurger Baggersee. The bathing lake (advertisement*) covers an area of 6 hectares and has a water depth of approximately 9 meters. There are beautiful lawns with trees around the lake, so there are also shady spots to be found in the summer. The lake's shore is often covered with bushes and trees, but in some places the lake is also accessible directly from the lawn. And the valley keeps changing... In my childhood there were actually still the "water meadows". It's also a pity that the beaver causes quite a bit of damage. The beautiful ancient pastures at the Grossenoherbach have fallen victim to him. But still always a beautiful place in every season! Recommended, of course, because it's home 🥰
