There is a shelter at the Hirtenfels. From there you have a great view of the surroundings and the Palatinate Forest. Right next to it is the Kosakenfels.

The Hirtenfels with its 630m above sea level is well integrated into a beautiful hiking tour from Dannenfels over the Adlerbogen and Ludwigsturm. From the summit of the Hirtenfels you have a wonderful view of the Palatinate.

Very nice, a look into the cave is definitely worth it. Barbecuing, making a fire, etc. is forbidden here, unfortunately there were still briquettes and charred wood in the cave

The dragon cave under the south rock is about 20 meters wide and 15 meters deep and a bit difficult to find and reach. It was made accessible by the Drachenfels Club in 1873; the lindworm that Siegfried killed in the Nibelungen saga is said to have once lived here. One can well imagine that for centuries children believed in the presence of dragons.

The Ungeheuersee in the Leininger Sporn, part of the northeastern Palatinate Forest, is a shallow pond that is fed by the Krumbach. The lake has been protected as a natural monument since the 1930s. It has been listed in the official register since 1971 with the list number ND-7332-195.
