The cable suspension bridge over the Argen river spans the Argen between Kressbronn, district of Gohren, and Langenargen. It was built under the Württemberg King Wilhelm II between 1896 and 1897. It was the first suspension bridge in Germany with wire cables. Today it is no longer used for vehicle traffic, only for bicycles and pedestrians. A great photo opportunity in all seasons.

Lindau is known for its old town island. In the harbor are the statue of the Bavarian lion and the stone Lindau lighthouse overlooking the lake and mountains. The Mangturm from the 12th century stands on the lake promenade at the harbor.

It is always interesting to watch the hustle and bustle in a port. Here in Lindau, with its distinctive harbor entrance, there is also a lively ferry service. I brought a postcard with me from a school trip to Lake Constance in 1965. It said: "Lindau is on Lake Constance, if you don't believe it, come and see for yourself".

The suspension bridge over the Argen, also referred to in literature as the Argenbrücke Langenargen, is a road bridge built between 1896 and 1897 under King Wilhelm II of Württemberg, which spans the Argen between Kressbronn and Langenargen on Lake Constance.

Very interesting structure. Nicely integrated into the good network of cycle paths.
