The path through the Gauchach Gorge is especially not recommended for people with even a slight fear of heights! I myself had no problem with that, but my hiking companion had to go beyond its limits. The path is sometimes very narrow, slippery and muddy, there are no steel "retaining fences" like in the Wutach Gorge. Absolute surefootedness, good physical condition and good shoes are a real MUST here! It becomes particularly problematic when a hiker comes towards you and you have to pass each other. I would classify the section as difficult depending on the weather conditions. Still a real highlight for me and highly recommended for advanced hikers (sticks are helpful !!); you are in a real jungle with a breathtaking view into the depths of the Gauchach!

The narrow paths close to the shore, often located under a protruding rock wall, sometimes also going straight through the water, are the spice of a hiking tour through seemingly adventurous gorges. Every step is taken anew, considered and yet sometimes you land with your shoes splashing into the water. So the path is never boring with increased hiking pleasure

Visually the largest, most beautiful, covered bridge over the Wutach. At the mouth of the Gauchach. Ideal for sheltering when it rains. When the sun is shining, it's nice to rest in the spacious area around the mouth.

This stair waterfall is striking and yet quite large for such a small stream. Very nice photo motif.

A great adventure for young and old to hike there! Nevertheless, I only recommend it on sunny and dry days.

There are many exciting sections of the trail in the gorge. But this is certainly one of the most interesting passages.

The Gauchach Gorge can be nicely combined with the Wutach Gorge and the Engesch Gorge as a 10km circular route (Three Gorges Path). Similar to the Wutach Gorge, you shouldn't hike there when it rains or shortly after it rains, as many places are very muddy. In some passages it can be dangerous under certain circumstances.

Narrow, narrow, slippery paths ... Good shoes, surefootedness must be available. You won't find such a beautiful one everywhere.

The Gauach Gorge is always worth a trip ... Please wear good shoes and wait 3 days for rain, otherwise it will be slippery in the gorge.

Wonderful gorge with wonderful views of the Wutach. Sometimes it goes along at river level, sometimes high above the river bed along exciting paths. Forbidden for bicycles and strollers and for good reason!

The path requires careful attention, is probably mostly slippery, on the right it goes steeply down. That's why it's fun.
