Small village with the original woolpack (from Emerdale)

This is a super fun and scenic section of gravel that runs alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal between Shipley and Leeds.

This marina is situated on the edge of Bradford near the village of Apperley Bridge. It serves as a hub for many boaters and is surrounded by wonderful views of the canal and lush countryside.

Lots to do here....food, toilets, art gallery and a bike shop!

The cafe is a family run business. It sells good food and refreshments. The staff are friendly, and its a great place to sit and share a bite to eat, a slice of cake or a cup of tea.

Combine this climb with murder mile out of silsden and you've got quite a climbing workout!

This set of five rises is the steepest set in the country. The stepped loch means that it's a continuous flight with no holding ponds between lochs, each gate opens into the next loch. Built in 1774 it's a major feet of engineering and requires regular maintenance. It's a complicated procedure to get a boat all the way up or down so a permanent lock keeper is employed to help. The structure is grade 1 listed.

I also name it as the boat lifter. Really interesting place either for walking, hiking, biking or running

Can be slippy when wet!

Awesome 'lock formation' that you can cycle up along side and see exactly how the long boats go uphill. The climb is short and sharp so take it easy. A very cool structure, with a cafe/pub at the top that's also worth a stop.

From Ilkley the climb is steady with one steep section towards to the top. Keep something back for that otherwise it’s tough.
