카테베르그는 오래된 노면 전차 노선을 따라 이어집니다. 만만치 않은 오르막이 여러분을 기다리고 있습니다. 역사적 배경: 이 반포장 자갈길은 과거 헹크의 석탄을 리에주의 산업 지역과 연결했던 노면 전차 노선 위에 있습니다. 노면 전차 노선 건설은 1908년에 시작되었습니다. 역과 레텐 마을 사이의 고도 차이를 극복하기 위해 700미터 거리에 카테베르그를 가로지르는 흙 제방이 건설되었습니다. 데머 강 위에는 석조 이중 아치교가 건설되었습니다. 증기 노면 전차는 1910년에 운행을 시작하여 이 지역의 승객 교통량을 엄청나게 증가시켰습니다. 노면 전차는 1948년 8월에 최종적으로 운행이 중단되었습니다. 노면 전차 선로는 1952년에 철거되었습니다. 이제 이곳은 레크리에이션을 즐기는 사람, 보행자, 자전거 이용자가 서로 만날 수 있는 경로입니다. 각자의 속도로 함께 즐기세요.

Here, on the Meuse River, you find yourself in the Belgian city of Liège, located in the Wallonia region. It borders Germany and the Netherlands, making it a major transportation hub. The Gatehouse, together with the moated castle and the outer bailey, belong to the oldest parts: in the Apostles' House, remains of the late Gothic ordinance from the second half of the 16th century from the building campaign of Land Commander Wijnandt van Brijel have been preserved. The buildings are being restored or redesigned by Land Commander Caspar Anton van der Heyden de Belderbusch in 1755. The complex (Gatehouse, Apostles' House, Trumpeter's House) is located at the highest point of the domain, on the eastern side of the commandery.
