The hydroelectric power plant of Trezzo sull’Adda (MI), named after Alessandro Taccani, is a production plant and an iconic monument located on the banks of the Adda River. It was built in an eclectic style (a mixture of different styles) between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century by the architect Gaetano Moretti, designer of the nearby workers’ village of Crespi d’Adda, at the request of the industrialist Cristoforo Benigno Crespi to supply energy to his cotton mill. The interiors were also taken care of in a particular way and present a particular liberty style contaminated by neo-gothic.
