The Barnebeck Village Church was first documented in 1443. Its core is a late medieval rectangular hall made of irregular fieldstone masonry. The windows were altered in the 18th or 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the square west tower was added, and the roof and gable were renovated, deliberately using different materials and styles. "Barnebeck Village Church." The interior has been largely preserved in its early 20th-century condition. The painting was done by Reinhold Ebeling from Hanover and dates back to 1904. During an extensive renovation of the Dahrendorf Feldsteinkirche carried out in 1940/41, not only were frescoes uncovered, but parchment was also discovered at the same time. The church building was dated 1112. Unfortunately, this document was lost in the post-war chaos. The architectural style of this one-piece fortified church also points to the first half of the 12th century. Over the centuries, the church has undergone many changes. It is no longer possible to clarify exactly whether this was due to the effects of war. The two gable walls, the upper half of which are made of bricks, indicate this. The wooden bell tower that stands directly on the west gable today was only built in 1852. It was only given its new cladding and roof in 1992. The nave was also re-roofed in the same year.
