Inconspicuous little chapel directly on the Pfohren Danube bridge with very beautiful interior.

The Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Pfohren was destroyed in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession and then rebuilt in 1767. For those interested: - The Marstall building was formerly a state stud farm – horses for the entire principality were bred here. - The first Marstall, however, was located on the other side of the palace (today's palace park). - It was built by "Count Heinrich VIII von Fürstenberg" and expanded in 1729 by "Joseph Wilhelm Ernst von Fürstenberg-Stühlingen." - His son, "Josef Wenzel von Fürstenberg-Stühlingen," finally had the Marstall relocated to the other side of the palace in 1779, and the palace park was built on the old site. - Ultimately, from 1806 onward, the Marstall lost its significance as a state stud farm. Always worth a trip, even without sunshine. A very expansive area. You can walk close to the water or along paved roads around it.
