Basedow Castle is a real eye-catcher and beautiful to look at. Together with Lenné Park and the small village with the village church, it forms a wonderful ensemble. Unfortunately, the castle itself can only be partially visited as part of a guided tour. But it is also worth seeing from the outside. There is a small path leading directly around the castle. The park is free and freely accessible and it is also worth taking a long walk here. The reflection of the castle in the adjacent village pond is also beautiful!👌 - why they have created several highlights for the same thing here is a mystery to me, as it is completely unnecessary! -

Ulrichshusen Castle is actually a manor house. It is beautifully situated on the Ulrichshusen Lake. The castle is used as an upscale hotel. But there is not just the castle with the small castle garden directly adjacent. Rather, it is an entire ensemble on the Ulrichshusen estate. Here you will find a good café and restaurant, among other things. The other outbuildings are used for various public events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

Basedow Castle is located in the municipality of Basedow in the Mecklenburg Lake District district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, directly on Lake Malchin. It is one of the most important castle complexes in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is today an irregular three-wing complex with a surrounding landscape park with a total area of approx. 200 hectares (Wikipedia).

Ulrichshusen - that is the history of the von Maltzahn family. A name first without, then with an "h". In 1562 "Ulrich" builds his "hus", his "Ulrichshusen". Sixty years later a great fire destroyed the castle. Bernd-Ludolph von Maltzan, Wallenstein's quartermaster, rebuilt the castle in just two years, 1624-26. Ulrichshusen sees the end of the Thirty Years' War in Swedish hands. It's always high. It is the political and economic currents that determine the fate of Ulrichshusen again and again. 1945 flight and expulsion. Then the growing chaos.
