The manor house (the so-called "Old House") was probably rebuilt in the Renaissance style between 1550 and 1570, or a new building called the "New House" was added. No longer a school but an imposing building

The castle church is the work of Friedrich Wilhem Buttel. It is regarded as his most important church building in Mecklenburg. Construction began in 1855.
