The "Dreieckiger Pfahl" shelter with the Harz hiking badge stamp is located near a stone border marker that used to separate the Kingdom of Hanover and the Duchy of Brunswick. Our shelters in the Harz National Park are usually located in places worth seeing and are therefore popular hiking destinations. They serve as a short-term rest and break option and as protection in the event of bad weather. Overnight stays are only permitted in an emergency. Once a popular inn, today it's a bit built up and you don't get anything here for free.

The inn now has new operators before you the mammoth task is to bring everything back into shape.

A really great destination, good range of food (restaurant and self-service), friendly hosts and rustically furnished guest room. Value for money completely okay. Accessible via many beautiful paths.
