A beautiful, natural lake

Since 2009, where ferrymen once offered their services, residents and tourists have been able to cross the river on foot or by bike using the pylon cable-stayed bridge. With a length of over 200 meters (span across the Dahme: 45 meters), a 21-meter-high pylon and a width of 2.60 meters, it is one of the largest German cycle and pedestrian bridges. It was only thanks to it that the Dahme cycle path could be realized.

Imagine hiking along beautiful forest paths right along the shore of the lake. The gentle rippling of the water accompanies you as you repeatedly come across idyllic benches that invite you to pause and enjoy the view. Here, just a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of Berlin, you will find a piece of untouched nature. With a length of around 4 kilometers, Lake Krossinsee offers a variety of hiking opportunities. Well-marked paths guide you through the landscape and repeatedly open up views of the lake landscape. Particularly impressive: the nearby nature reserve along the bank, which gives you the opportunity to experience the region's biodiversity up close. With a bit of luck you can observe rare plants and animals here. Seating is available for short breaks or a cozy picnic in between, and two playgrounds also entice you to stop. Not to forget: The lake also offers our four-legged companions refreshment and bathing fun, as our little travel test with dogs showed. However, before you set off, think about comfortable shoes and clothing. Good preparation with enough water and food is appropriate. And especially in the summer months, you shouldn't forget mosquito repellent so that you can enjoy nature undisturbed. A final note for everyone who is looking for peace and quiet: During the week, when Berlin is pulsating with its everyday rhythms, you will often find the most beautiful solitude here at Krossinsee. But even on weekends, despite the possible crowds, this place remains a jewel in the lake landscape around the capital.

The Oder Spree Canal (OSK) is mainly located in the state of Brandenburg and consists of two sections. The approx. 24 km[1] long, western section connects the Dahme via the Seddinsee near Schmöckwitz (in the south-east of the state of Berlin) with the Spree and flows 4 km west of Fürstenwalde, on the left into the Fürstenwalder Spree. The approx. 41 km[1] long, eastern section of the Oder-Spree Canal branches off 20 km further upstream, on the right-hand side of the Spree and connects it with the Oder, into which it flows in Eisenhüttenstadt (district Fürstenberg) at km 553.4 flows.
