The KiEZ Hölzerner See is a place that promises children and young people games, fun and unforgettable memories in nature. In the children's and youth recreation center, school trips, holiday camps and family outings are transformed into experiences full of fun, adventure and knowledge. True to the motto: learning through experience.

Nice resting place with a view of the lake through the trees. However, the path to the bench is quite overgrown.

Above this spot there is a picnic area, which is unfortunately a bit old. If it is not mosquito season (which was the case on my tour) it is still a nice place to stay. 👍 From there a trail leads down to the water. If you dare, you should definitely take it. The trail is not easy to find, especially in summer, due to the vegetation. By the way, it is not steeply downhill/uphill, but in "serpentines". 😉 But I think it is worth the effort. 😃

Solid, easy-to-drive single trail next to the busy B179! In the area of the bridge at the mouth of the lake, there is even a good, wide asphalt cycle path!

With 8 bar on the 28er racing bike tires not ideal through the lifts and pottholes. But all the better for the gravel bike.

Children's and youth recreation center at the Hölzernen See. Reminds a little of a former holiday camp, but in a modern guise and lovingly furnished.

Teufelswerder is the name of a small peninsula that protrudes into the Schmöldesee on the west side and separates it spatially from the Holzern See.

On the west side of the lake you can either hike directly along the shore or take the high path and from there you have a wonderful view through the trees of the water.
