The freestanding bell tower in Hohenzieritz belongs to the castle church (also known as a neoclassical round church) and is a listed historical monument. The bell dates from 1588, making it one of the oldest surviving bells in the Mecklenburg-Strelitz region. It was probably cast during the Renaissance and has survived the wars and upheavals of the centuries.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prillwitz is a remarkable example of regional architectural history. The original nave dates back to the Middle Ages, while in the 18th century a half-timbered church was built, presumably on the foundations of the previous building. At the end of the 19th century, the church received a new tower in the Neo-Gothic style, the half-timbered walls were replaced with masonry, and the exterior plastering was renewed. The interior is simple, with a late Gothic pulpit and an altar from the early 16th century. The organ was built by Barnim Grüneberg in 1892 and restored in 2014, making it an important instrument in the region. Prillwitz is picturesquely situated in the Tollense Basin of the Mecklenburg Lake District.

The Hohenzieritz Village Church, also known as the Castle Chapel, is located in the district of the same name in the municipality of Blankensee. It was built in 1806 in the Neoclassical style according to designs by the master builder Friedrich Wilhelm Dunckelberg. The church is characterized by its circular central brick structure, a simple Doric portal, and a surrounding gallery inside. The dome was originally painted with coffered panels; today it is white. The church was re-consecrated in 1991 after renovation and is now an outstanding example of Neoclassical architecture in the region. It serves not only as a place of peace and contemplation, but is also a significant architectural gem nestled in the idyllic landscape of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The cycle path between Hohenzieritz and Peckatel is approximately three kilometers long and pleasantly rideable, away from traffic. It leads through a gently rolling landscape with wide fields, small forests, and beautiful views, including those towards Lake Liepssee. The path is ideal for a relaxing break on a longer bike tour. In Hohenzieritz, a stop in the castle park is a great place to take a break with its historical significance and well-maintained grounds. The route is ideal for incorporating into tours through the Mecklenburg Lake District and the Müritz National Park.
