Agios Stefanos is actually the main town in this coastal area. However, the migration is clearly noticeable, as most of the locals live in Makry-Gialos. Great views up here and luckily the Kafenio is open all year round!

Beautiful mountain village, only accessible via winding roads and quite isolated. Great location directly below a large mountain range with many hiking opportunities.

Pefki is a pretty hilltop village easily accessible from Makry-Gialos by good road or on foot via the scenic Pefki Gorge. Many houses have been renovated and the residents put a lot of effort into beautiful potted plants. To stop off, there is the kafenion "Weinlaube" (the landlord speaks German, among other things) and the tavern Piperia.

In contrast to other mountain villages, there is still some village life here. Several houses have been renovated and the residents decorate their village with numerous potted plants. Especially the tavern Piperia is always worth a visit - with or without a hike!

At the edge of the village is a beautiful fountain with unfortunately heavily weathered ornaments.

The murals in the chapel Ágios Geórgios are unfortunately not protected so it is certainly a matter of time, until you can not marvel at them anymore.

Even the small church on the outskirts of Etiá is still relatively well preserved and equipped with icons inside.
