슈텐달에 있는 성 야코비 교회는 벽돌 고딕 양식의 개신교 도시 교회입니다.

슈텐달러 로란트(Stendaler Roland)는 1525년에 슈텐달 시청사 법정 앞에 세워진 로란트 동상으로 슈텐달의 상징입니다. 이 조각상의 높이는 7.80미터입니다.

The two towers of St. Mary's Church can be seen from afar. The church, which is impressive from the outside, should definitely be visited when you are in Stendal: the carvings are very impressive. The church houses, among other things, a wooden organ gallery, under which there is an astronomical clock, a hand-carved choir screen with the apostles and a Marian altar. The church of St. Jacobi is the second of the three large churches in the Hanseatic city of Stendal. It is the "pilgrim church" of Stendal. Events are held regularly in the church and it is an open church (note the opening times). The Uenglinger Gate (as it is correctly called) is, alongside the Holsten Gate, one of the most impressive city gates of the North German brick Gothic style. The gate can be visited from May to September: Tuesday-Friday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday & Sunday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission costs €2. Why they had to make a second highlight here is a mystery to me!

The Stendal Roland was built in 1525 and is one of the largest Rolands in Germany. For the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Roland, the city decided to have a bronze statue erected. This stands in front of the Altmark Museum and represents the construction of the Roland in 1525.

The Stendal town hall is a group building that consists of several wings from different eras: the courthouse, the Gewandhaus (now houses the Ratskeller), the main wing and, in the 19th century, the last building in the Renaissance style. Together with St. Mary's Church, it forms the ensemble of the market square. Beautiful to look at and the jewel of the Hanseatic town of Stendal.
