It's no coincidence that the Bollendorf hiking trail "Green Hell" took second place in Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2024. As a special treat, the tour is also available as an audio guide app with plenty of additional information.

If you are familiar with the region, you will find various places where real labyrinths with rock crevices as high as houses have arisen. Eulen-Horst is one of them. Unique and interesting.

The impressive steep column is called the Prediktstuhl. Beautiful bench below, stairs going up at the side. Additional rest stop at the top.

In the area of the Eulenhorst rock formation, a rock labyrinth awaits the hikers, in which getting lost seems to be inevitable. Upstairs and downstairs it goes through the narrow, gorge-like rocky gorges. Smooth rock walls rise up to the right and left. Dark shafts are walked through and we literally squeeze ourselves into narrow crevices in the rocks. Again and again you have to reorient yourself in order to follow the right path.

Very nice, sometimes muddy path on a great stream with small waterfalls and cascades. It's worth incorporating into a small hike of your own or, for hikers who know your physical condition, into a tour around the Teufelsschlucht. I would recommend going uphill. One of the Devil's Paths also uses this section. I don't know which direction is recommended, because I put the tours together on komoot in advance.

Green Hell and Eulenhorst are just the two most extreme rock formations with crevices you can walk through. The entire path is accompanied by interesting and imposing rock formations.

A great circular route, also highly recommended with children.
