Near the center of Mistelbach there are several rock formations made of Rätholias sandstone, including the Viertelstein, which stands in the middle of a field.

It's beautiful how the clear water rushes over the mossy rocks. It's not one of the big waterfalls, but it's enchanting nonetheless.

Very nicely prepared castle with a beautiful view of Bad Berneck.

Unfortunately it was dry when we visited, so it's best to visit after the snow has melted or there has been heavy rain.

One of the most romantic branch lines in the Fichtel Mountains ran from Neuenmarkt via Himmelkron to Bad Berneck until 1993, ending in Bischofsgrün. In the 1970s, traffic increasingly shifted to the road, so that passenger transport was discontinued in May 1974. Nevertheless, the line was retained for freight traffic, as companies such as Frenzelit or the Küfner hard stone works, which produced railway ballast, regularly required freight trains. But here too, transport increasingly shifted to the road in the early 1990s. When a section of the railway embankment in the area between Blumenau and Lanzendorf slipped as a result of a thunderstorm in July 1992, this was a welcome opportunity to officially close the line to Bad Berneck on December 31, 1993.

This route on the old railway path is very nice to drive and the landscape is a dream!

Together with the old castle, the castle is the scene of a medieval spectacle every year. The tower of the old castle is now and then open to the public for festivities. Theater is also performed there.
