The Prinz-Rupprechtturm (Prince Rupprecht Tower) is a 14-meter-high observation tower belonging to the @Fichtelgebirgsverein e.V. (Fichtel Mountain Association) on the 596-meter-high Wolfenberg mountain. It offers a beautiful view of the Hof region to the north, especially when the leaves aren't on the trees. Otherwise, it's unfortunately heavily overgrown. This is unsightly, but unfortunately, due to the property ownership situation, it can't be remedied. Those who want to look out into the countryside to the east and south can walk or cycle along the dirt road on the southern slope of the Wolfenberg towards Köslar.

There is a rest area at the Hohe Warte. The lookout tower has been removed. I saved a picture from 2016 as a reminder (picture no. 41). Now there is only a cross at this point.

Beautiful 19 m high observation tower with a great view of the surrounding area, a panoramic window makes orientation easier. In the Middle Ages there was a watchtower here, the construction of the observation tower in its present form took place in 1925. At the tower there is a restaurant with a beautiful beer garden, the staff is "Franconian grumpy".

The observation tower is not recommended. It is totally overgrown and offers practically no view.

There was a wooden tower here that, tragically, had to be demolished 10 years after renovation. I still knew the tower. The visibility was limited to the north due to vegetation. You could see him when you drove from Bayreuth on the B2 into Bad Berneck.

The flagpole just below the summit is called a weather vane 😉 The surrounding area offers many small highlights. I recommend the hiking car park at the Goldkronach cemetery for the climb. The name probably comes from the district forester who was murdered at the golden view (see memorial stone).
