The magnificent complex is characterized by the redesign that Margrave Georg Friedrich had carried out by the architect Caspar Vischer after the destruction in the Second Margrave War in 1557. You can see the free-standing front wall of the former pilgrimage church from the 15th century near Neufang. The Heilingskirche was consecrated to the "Three Marys" - Maria Jacobi (Cleophas), Maria Salome and Maria Magdalena. Climbing the tower was possible on special festivals and occasions. I was up there once during the castle festival.

The church ruins from the 15th century, which stand on a hill near Neufang, are very impressive.
