          Magnificent castle. At the foot there is a cozy restaurant right by the water. The view of the std. A water fountain rounds off the view of the pond. The castle can be rented for celebrations with the Kurschtengsus. The adjacent Protestant castle church is a great location for weddings.

                Directly near the Rotmain Cycle Path is Thurnau Castle on a small lake. An idyllic castle and palace complex in Upper Franconia with construction sections from the 13th to the 19th century.

                  The Hans-Georgen-Bau is currently used by the Research Institute for Music Theater at the University of Bayreuth and the Institute for Franconian Regional History at the Universities of Bayreuth and Bamberg. A hotel is housed in the Carl Maximilian Building. Events take place in the former carriage house and in the stables. The rest of the castle, including the bower, is empty. The prayer bay was extensively renovated in 2015-17.
