I always feel comfortable at Lake Weißenstadt.

Four wooden bridges lead over three small islands in the southern part of the lake. The path is shady and cool in summer, offering magnificent views of the lake. The path over the bridges is part of the Lakes Trail (S).

A very beautiful local recreation area with many leisure activities, a hotel and a pub with a beer garden.

The 4-kilometer circular trail around Lake Weißenstadt is flat and paved. Along the route, you'll find various dining options, as well as numerous benches for resting and an overview panel about the town of Weißenstadt in the Fichtelgebirge.

A beautiful lake

Also called Förmitz Dam. Interesting facts: The dam is a rockfill dam with a sealing core. The inner seal consists of a diaphragm wall made of earth concrete (clay concrete), which has a clay core on both sides and a support body made of rock and stone. The main reservoir has an area of 116 hectares and a storage volume of around 10 million cubic metres. The length and width of the reservoir are around 1.2 km. Long bathing area with lots of shady spots, a few benches and good, flat access to the lake. As it is a bit rocky, I recommend bringing bathing shoes.

Two old covered bridges and two new open bridges connect the banks across the islands.
