Beautiful observation tower with views of the Fichtel Mountains and the Franconian Forest. Closed in winter

Rohrbühl Observation Tower Dedicated in 1937 as a memorial to the fallen of World War I. 23 m high, 121 steps in the tower. Magnificent panorama over the geologically famous Münchberg (gneiss) massif, to the Franconian Forest and Fichtel Mountains, as far as the Elster and Ore Mountains. Once you have climbed the steps, you have a great view of the Fichtel Mountains and Münchberg from above. There is a memorial at the bottom that is not accessible. There is a small covered rest stop in the square in front of it.

@schrepfman The thing about swimming is true, provided the weather plays along. The restaurant is recommended, and the beer garden is particularly good for a rest.

The tower was inaugurated in 1937.

A special memorial stone in the form of a turret for those who died in the First and Second World Wars in the towns of Mechlenreuth, Mussen and Schweinsbach on the Kapellenberg. From the memorial you have a beautiful view of the Fichtelgebirge to the south/southeast.
