With around 3,400 inhabitants, Fischerhude is a relatively small place, but it is worth a stay just for the museum of the impressionist and co-founder of Worpswede, Otto Modersohn. But the Wümme that flows here, the local museum, the Liebfrauenkirche and the Mühlenberg with its windmill are also worth a visit. First mentioned in documents in 1124, Fischerhude, located on the Hamburg-Bremen long-distance cycle route, belongs to the town of Ottersberg.

Several small wooden footbridges lead over the Wümme. Be careful in wet weather as it can be slippery.
