There are still many beautiful views to be had; the entire Altmühl Valley Cycle Path is worth a bike ride. Ideally, a multi-day tour.

This impressive palace complex is well worth a visit. Immediately to the left of the entrance is a beautiful chapel. The ceiling there is impressive. The palace courtyard is also magnificent. From the Court Garden, you can enjoy a view of the lower Old Town. If you have time, you can visit the museum.

An impressive building that you wouldn't expect to find in a town like Neuburg. You can save a bit by purchasing a combined ticket for the castle and the town museum. In my opinion, the town museum is a worthwhile addition to the castle, as it tells the story of life in Neuburg.

It's a great city and a wonderful atmosphere. There are so many lovely restaurants, pubs, and beer gardens, and there's also a lot to offer culturally.

The old four-bay arched bridge over the Altmühl near Pfünz is considered one of the most important historical stone bridges in Bavaria. It was probably built in the 15th century.

With four massive barrel vaults, the medieval bridge, constructed from massive stone blocks, spans the Altmühl River. It was built around 1486 under Bishop Wilhelm of Reichenau. The name Pfünz – Pontus – suggests a significant predecessor bridge. An important Roman road connection from Pfünz Castle to the Burgus in Burgsallach gave this river crossing particular importance. The bridge was rebuilt between 1822 and 1838, and subsequently, a bridge toll was levied. Closed to car traffic, the bridge is now a cycle path, and many enjoy lingering at this historically significant river crossing in its romantic setting. And it's always a fantastic photo opportunity!
