The path leads at the most beautiful point through the stream bed, sometimes with wire ropes to hold on to. A bit challenging, but really worth it! Can also be done with dogs.

8월 19, 2022, Deutsches Eck – Confluence of the Rhine and Moselle

Shortly after the death of Kaiser Wilhelm I, the idea arose to erect a memorial to the Kaiser, who had brought about the complete unification of Germany after three wars. Three years later, in 1891, Kaiser Wilhelm II, the grandson of the deceased, chose the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz as a suitable location. In order to create space for the memorial, a port of refuge was filled in, which at that time was located at the mouth of the Moselle. The Deutsches Eck in its present form was created. On August 31, 1897, the copper-engraved monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I was inaugurated in the presence of Kaiser Wilhelm II.

If you drive the beautiful cycle path on the left bank of the Rhine between Koblenz and Boppard and you pass Spay. Then on the other side of the Rhine, at a height of 160 m on a slate cone, the only medieval hilltop castle that has never been destroyed. An enchanting sight, plus a great photo opportunity.

There are spacious benches in front of the entrance so you can linger after the circular route and the sometimes slippery descent.

The Deutsches Eck is an artificial headland in Koblenz at the mouth of the Moselle into the Rhine. In 1897 a monumental equestrian statue of the first German Emperor Wilhelm I was built here, which was designed as a monument to the founding of the German Reich in 1871.

Very nice wild romantic single trail. Good footwear required. You have to climb something, it is slippery and you also have to go through the stream
