Tiefenbach Waterfall near Altenberg. Information: Located at approximately 660 meters above sea level, it was artificially created in 1954. The stamp station is no longer located on-site due to two instances of theft. There are several steps on the hiking trail, which you have to climb to get to the waterfall. Very nice hiking trail with the sound of the waterfall 👌🌝

The Tiefenbach Waterfall is located between Geising and Altenberg and is a truly beautiful natural experience. It was artificially created in 1954 as part of mining operations. The waterfall is located above Geising on the road to Altenberg at around 660 meters above sea level and was created in 1954. It falls in two stages with a total height of around 40 meters, separated by a short, flatter section. This makes it one of the highest waterfalls in Saxony. The upper part falls freely for around 15 to 20 meters and can be seen from a viewing platform that is accessible via a hiking trail from the road. The lower fall, also around 15 to 20 meters high, plunges into a tube beneath the platform and is only visible in the upper section.
