The Witches' Tower is one of the preserved towers of the former city fortifications. Next to the Witches' Tower is the oldest half-timbered house in Babenhausen; it was built in 1484.

The name is wrong here. The “Breschturm” got its name from the fact that a cannon ball closed a hole in the tower during an attack on Babenhausen. This created a “breech”.

Babenhausen landmark. The Witches' Tower served as a prison in the late Middle Ages. Torture is said to have taken place here, some of which even led to death. The view along the old city wall is simply great. The old town and the old city wall, most of which are still preserved, impressed me the most anyway.

It is located in the old town, which is well worth seeing, with remains of the former city wall and beautiful half-timbered houses. The witch tower served as a prison in the late Middle Ages. Torture is said to have taken place here, some of which resulted in death. Witch burnings could not be proven in the entire city area, but at least one pillory is said to have been attached to the witch tower.
