The 476 meter high Wilisch consists mainly of basalt, which is due to its volcanic origin. The last volcanic activity that led to the formation of the Wilisch dates back to the Tertiary, more precisely the Oligocene to Miocene. The region around the Wilisch is also geologically interesting because it is rich in basalt, which in the past led to the intensive extraction and use of this rock. The view from the Wilisch and the triangulation column are also really very impressive.

Enjoy inexpensive home cooking in a cozy atmosphere - in the mountain lodge Geisingberg. There is a cozy restaurant on the 824 m high Geisingberg. A sun terrace with 38 seats invites you to linger. Here you will be amazed by the tranquility that surrounds the nature reserve. If you feel like it, you can "climb" the 18 m high Louisenturm. You can expect a fantastic view over the Ore Mountains. Nice vantage point! Admission to the tower is 1 euro and the hut has moderately priced food and drinks.

Good vantage point to Altenberg. The Baude is unfortunately closed, but there is a food truck at proud prices. Lazy walkers can also go up with the carriage.

The Kahleberg attracts many day trippers. The hut still has? closed, but at the snack bar next to it you can also get warm sausages and hot or cold drinks. Otherwise you have beautiful views from various benches.

The Wilisch (476m) forms together with the Lerchenberg and the Quohrener Kipse THE distinctive mountain range in the area. The view sweeps over the Eastern Ore Mountains and their foothills. The upper part consists of basalt, which was mined until 1923.

Absolutely recommended, even if the path from Geising is very steep, but the view from the tower rewards you and the funny and friendly hospitality. Garlic is a must here. My garlic fritters were delicious.
