At 905 meters, the Kahleberg is the third highest elevation in the Eastern Ore Mountains and at the same time the highest mountain in the Saxon part of this mountain range. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of Altenberg with the gallows ponds across to Saxon Switzerland, and in good weather even to the Iser and Riesengebirge. As a natural monument, the block heaps are primarily home to rare lichens and mosses.
