"My name is Roland Zimmermann. I didn't originally plan the observatory. Well, looking back, in 1997 a small plant sprouted that has since grown into a tree. Today, even the observatory is only a part of the 4,000 square meter astronomy park. The park is home to many astronomical models. These are all unique and cannot be found at any other observatory. The astronomy park with observatory is my private property and has nothing to do with the town of Kraichtal. The park is open all year round for educational purposes. The cycle path runs along the Leimbach and away from the road. That's why it's well used. Pedestrians and oncoming traffic must be reckoned with.

At the lake you will find a kiosk, a children's playground, a sandy beach for small children, a beach volleyball court and spacious lawns for a successful day out. The nearby vineyards are also ideal for cycling and hiking in the Kraichgau. The lake was created by human hands around 1680 and is the oldest natural swimming pool in the region. The first bathing regulations were issued there in 1903.
