The Sallier Bridge has now been renovated and is open. Here you have a good view of Speyer. A short stop is worthwhile to enjoy the view.

The cornerstone of the Hermitage in Waghäusel was laid in 1724 by Hugo Philipp von Schönborn, Prince Bishop of Speyer. As early as 1720 he had moved his residence from Speyer to Bruchsal and started building the palace there. In their Waghäusel Hermitage, in the immediate vicinity of the pilgrimage church and monastery, the prince bishops of Speyer sought both peace and quiet for religious exercises and relaxation through hunting.
