Definitely the most beautiful way to get to Hainberg is right on my running route. A good challenge for runners!

In 1861, the city of Asch bought the bare summit of Hainberg (Czech: Háj) from Count von Zedtwitz in order to wood the mountain and turn it into a park for the population. The new attraction soon became very popular. In 1884 the Ascher Alpine Club built an inn with accommodation on the summit, and the observation tower was ceremoniously opened in 1904. Monuments to Jahn, Körner and Schiller complemented the stone path.

The monument to the German poet and soldier Karl Theodor Körner (1791 to 1813) was unveiled in 1913 on the 100th anniversary of his death. The original bust was lost, as was the relief of a rider. In September 2013, another hundred years later, the new bust was unveiled. The base of the monument is flanked by plaques on which the names of the citizens of Asch who died in the wars of 1813 and 1914/1918 are immortalized.

We only became aware of the Moritzberg through this sign indicating the altitude (730 m). The Moritzberg is located directly on the Grenzweg/steig.

A beautiful hiking path, always along the border, also leads past the Moritzberg. If you stand directly on the Moritzberg (730m above sea level), strangely enough, it goes even further up into Czech territory. There is also the Kužel 769m high.
