Pretty steep and rocky uphill, but nice. It is dangerous with the flash tubes because of the cars on the street. The direct ascent to the castle afterwards is not particularly recommended.

Beautiful trail below Battenberg Castle, part of the historic path up to the castle. The path is rocky in the upper part, very worn and therefore quite slippery. It becomes magical towards the car park. Be careful at the turnoff to the left into the quarry: it is a wildlife rest area and unfortunately is only marked as such towards Neuleinigen. We were in it, which in retrospect wasn't so exciting. But it was beautiful.
