The section marked here is one of the most beautiful of the former railway line. Beautiful ride on the heights through the forest and rock formations.

A very nice bike path between Freudenberg and Wildenburg train station on a former railway line. Left and right the path is partly framed by high rocks, all around a lot of forest and great mountains. Part of the cycle path goes through a tunnel.

The Giebelbergkreuz is at this point, but it is not a lookout point, there is "only" forest. There is also no view from the Giebelberg itself.

Highest point of the gable forest. From the cross it goes a little further up to 528m. Many beautiful trails start from there :)

Nice easy tour over the railway line with the first stop in the "English Garden" and on to the "Mole" in Römershagen

Hohenhain Tunnel The Hohenhain Tunnel on the former railway line between Freudenberg and Hohenhain. The tunnel was built from 1906 to the end of 1907. At 396 meters, it was the longest railway tunnel in what was then the Prussian province of Westphalia. The railway had been running from Olpe to Rothemühle since 1880, and eight years later, with the construction of the section from Freudenberg via Hohenhain to Rothemühle, the connection from Kirchen to Freudenberg was completed. In 1983, railway operations were stopped at the start of the summer timetable and the tracks were dismantled in March/April 1988. In 1998, the local history association fought to ensure that the tunnel was not walled up. In 2004, RWE brought light into the tunnel and in 2005 the tunnel was added to the Freudenberg city monument list.

The Ottoturm is an almost 19-meter-high observation tower on the Kahlenberg. From here, you have a beautiful panoramic view of parts of the Siegerland region, especially when the weather is good; on particularly clear days you can even see the Siebengebirge. The steel staircase up to the tower is a highlight in itself, especially if you are afraid of heights. But the climb is worth it!

The Druidenstein is located on the first stage of the Druidensteig and the penultimate stage of the Natursteig Sieg long-distance hiking trail. The bizarre basalt cone is around 20 meters high and can be seen from afar. A very impressive place for a long break and if you have nothing left in your backpack, you can refill it at the "kiosk".
