What did an industrial plant in Siegerland look like 100 years ago? You can experience this up close, impressively and intensively in the Freudenberg Technology Museum. Here, young and experienced technology fans (and those who want to become one) can experience mechanics with all their senses. It is not only in the large machine workshop with the original steam engine, the nucleus of the museum, that you can literally grasp old, moving technology, refresh childhood memories and learn for the future. It hums and groans, the forge hammer cracks, it smells of hot oil and the transmission belts clatter. Because here you can see, experience and understand one of the most extensive collections in Germany with twenty-five over 100-year-old, fully functional machine tools, powered by a historic steam engine and associated transmission. Originals with the spirit of the times wherever you look! Since it opened in 2002, the successful South Westphalian museum has been bringing old industrial forms into the present and telling industrial histories: of the industrial past of South Westphalia - the basis of the many world-famous mechanical engineering companies in our region and their inventive spirit that can still be felt today.
