It can be doubted that the RTL production “Demon Wedding” was a high point in the 800-year history of the castle. The ascent to the "summit" is worth it - the path is very beautiful, natural and the view from above is simply fantastic - as is the entire World Heritage nature trail. Good shoes and especially good surefootedness in wet weather are advantageous ;-).

The Cistercian Abbey of Marienstatt is a place of pilgrimage directly on the Nister near Hachenburg with its own brewery. Several long-distance hiking trails such as the Westerwald-Steig and the Druidensteig lead past the monastery.

The Druidenstein is located on the first stage of the Druidensteig and the penultimate stage of the Natursteig Sieg long-distance hiking trail. The bizarre basalt cone is around 20 meters high and can be seen from afar. A very impressive place for a long break and if you have nothing left in your backpack, you can refill it at the "kiosk".

Windeck Castle is a hilltop castle from 1174, today only a ruin but very interesting. There are many signs to read up on the history, and from the castle you have a fabulous view of the surrounding communities.

You have to be at the end of the world! 😄 A beautiful path with an alpine character, some steep passages, steps and ropes. You should definitely be able to walk.
