The Sehlendorfer Binnensee nature reserve is located in the municipality of Blekendorf Sehlendorf. It is crossed by a hiking trail that takes you to the most interesting places and offers breathtaking views from two platforms, among other things. The Sehlendorfer Binnensee is one of the few beach lakes on the Baltic coast that still has an open connection to the Baltic Sea, the Broeck. This increases the salt content in the lake when Baltic Sea water flows in and decreases when the water level is lower. The changing salt content is crucial for a very special animal and plant world in this protected area. The wall is partially over-thinned and is home to beach grass and beach rye as well as protected sea thistles. A typical dry grassland with silver grass, sand sedge, stonecrop and dune pansies has developed on it. The ever-popular straw figures stand at the large village pond during the Probsteier Korntage. This year it is Alf. Before that it was, among other things, Werner, a Viking ship,... There is also the Angus Hof Stoltenberg/Frick near the village pond with its own farm shop. It's not far to Stakendorf Beach, where you can eat delicious food at the various fish stalls with a view of the Baltic Sea.
