Rugged Islek, rolling hills in the Bitburg Gutland, and the wild cliffs of the Ferschweiler Plateau – every corner of the Southern Eifel Nature Park reveals a very special landscape. Thanks to special wheelchair access devices, even visitors with limited mobility can experience the park's diversity on selected trails. This makes nature accessible to everyone. How does this work? The Southern Eifel Nature Park was founded in 1958 in the border triangle of Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg. It covers an area of over 430 square kilometers. At the GaytalPark environmental experience center, you can learn more about the region's special features.

From 1996 to July 1, 2011, the Gaytalpark was here - a pioneer in solar technology, among other things. For example, you could hold workshops with school classes there and go on excursions from there to the Koxhausen wind farm. But the visitors didn't come and the facility became a financial flop for the provider. A good 15 years after its opening, the Gaytalpark in Körperich-Obersgegen ceased operations. Today the Hotel GenussWerk Eifel is located there.
