After the St. Jörisers had to go to the Kinzweiler parish church for a whole century following the closure of the monastery church, they received their own church in 1906, whose patron saint was St. George, the patron saint of the former monastery and the Kinzweiler knights.

Lake Barmen is idyllically located on the edge of a landscape protection area and has a small beach and a lawn for sunbathing. Here you can cool down and relax away from the hustle and bustle of an outdoor pool. To protect nature, swimming is only permitted in officially designated bathing areas. Entry is free, you enter and swim at your own risk, there is no lifeguard. In the immediate vicinity, between Floßdorf and Broich, the Rur meanders along its natural course. Walking paths around Lake Barmen invite you to discover the charming surroundings.

Everything is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

The Blausteinsee is still very young. It is the pit of a former opencast mine, which was filled with water from 1994. You can still see his artificial character somehow. Nevertheless, it is a popular destination and a good example of the renaturation of the opencast mining landscape. In the next few years, even more such lakes are to be created in this area.
